In these few pages, the purpose is to shed light on the historical progression of the important events in the formation of politics and parties in Chile and, in this exercise, to occasionally «descorrer el tupido velo» of sustained practices of corruption and flagrant abuse. Of course, I mention some good initiatives that have been promoted in recent years. The title is intended to focus on the issue of corruption and how to combat it, based on the classic phrase «corriendo un tupido velo», which is usually used by the educated but is common in Chile. In effect, corriendo un tupido velo is to hide or not want to see and leave out of the conversation an uncomfortable or secret situation that, in the eyes of a person or select group, no one would like to reveal clearly.
