Peer review policies

The manuscripts of articles to be published in RC Rendición de Cuentas must follow the following procedure:

1. The original manuscripts will be subjected to evaluation with two specialists in the field, following the principle of double blind.

2. The assessors must be academics of recognized prestige in the field of study in question, with attachment to academic institutions, national or foreign and preferably members of the National System of Researchers.

3. The name of the evaluators will remain anonymous for the author, while he/she will not know the identity of those who evaluate his/her manuscript, so that the opinion process is carried out through a "double-blind" procedure.

4. The dictators will evaluate in writing the scientific quality of the texts, based on their internal coherence, originality, contribution to the advancement of knowledge of the topics, and appropriate and specialized use of the bibliography.

5. The written opinion must be delivered within a maximum period of one month. In this document, the general evaluation of publication will be carried out in any of the following areas: not publishable; publishable with major modifications; publishable with minor modifications; or publishable without modifications.

6. Once the evaluations have been received, the Editorial Board will approve the content to be published for the volume in question and the editorial coordinator will inform the authors of the result of the decision.

7. In the event that only one of the opinions is positive (publicable with minor modifications or publishable without modifications), the Director of the journal with the support of the Editorial Board may request a third evaluation which will be considered as final.

8. In case there is an agreement in which the manuscript is not publishable, the Editorial Coordinator will inform the authors of the negative result of the opinions.

9. In the event that the dictators have requested major modifications for the approval of the manuscript, the editorial coordinator will send the authors to review for modification.

10. Only articles that receive two positive opinions at the end of the process will be considered for publication.
