Abstract

This paper analyzes, based on the data from the Canary Islands Transparency Index (IT Canarias) of 2020, the relationship that local active transparency has with other variables of great importance. The aim is to understand what social conditions encourage or discourage the development of public transparency. In our study, in addition to the variables considered, we would have liked to use others, especially those related to the social capital existing in the Canary municipalities, such as the level of association, organ donation, etc., but these variables are not available in the databases consulted.
